A rug hand-knotted to your dimensions
Most rooms are not standard. Ours was not either. A bespoke Nestaground begins with your floor, your light and your palette, and ends with a piece that fits the room instead of almost fitting it.
Why a rug is worth making to measure
A rug that is 30 cm too short stops working. The front legs of the sofa fall off the edge, the bed floats, the play area runs out before the child does. Standard sizes exist because looms and containers prefer them, not because rooms do.
Knotting to measure costs no more per square metre than knotting to a standard size. What changes is that the piece belongs to the room from the first day, and stays right when the furniture moves.
What you choose
- Dimensions
- Any size up to roughly 4 × 6 m in one piece. Beyond that we discuss joins and installation.
- Palette
- Plant-based dyes, matched to your room. Send a photo and we work from the light you actually have.
- Motif and density
- From near-plain undyed wool to a full graphic composition. This is what sets the price band.
- Wool and pile
- Natural wool throughout. Pile height adjusted for comfort underfoot or for a chair that has to roll.

- 05DeliverDelivered and installed. Afterwards, washing and restoration stay with us for the life of the piece.
Price and timeline
Bespoke pieces are priced by surface and by the density of colour work: from 450 €/m² for near-plain natural wool, 500 €/m² for coloured compositions, and 550 €/m² for full-colour and artistic pieces. A 3 × 2 m coloured rug therefore starts around 3 000 €.
Count eight to twelve weeks of knotting after the design is agreed, plus delivery. Large commissions are planned further ahead — tell us your date early and we build backwards from it.
Frequently asked questions
How large can a bespoke rug be?
Up to roughly 4 × 6 metres as a single piece. We have delivered several commissions at that scale in Europe and beyond. Larger surfaces are possible with planned joins, which we discuss case by case.
Can you match a specific colour?
Within the range of plant-based dyes, yes. Send a photo, a fabric sample or a paint reference and we propose the closest natural equivalent. We will tell you honestly when a colour cannot be reached without synthetic dye — and we will not use one.
How long does it take?
Eight to twelve weeks of knotting once the design is agreed, depending on size and density. Design exchanges before that usually take one to three weeks.
Do you work with interior designers?
Regularly. Prescription, private residential projects and large-format commissions, handled with full confidentiality. There is a dedicated page for professional projects.
